Summer 2013 came and went.

Marco Island, Fl

Kids enjoyed fishing right out the back door every morning.

John broke his finger riding the Mader's Green Machine.
Not a fun way to start the summer.

Random:
Anna and the Firecrackers performed for a Japanese Game Show "Q".

A fun visit from Jacob. We introduced him to Whit's!

William ran 500 miles this summer.

Boys kept up their wake boarding skills even though we
never made it to the lake.

David decided to play football!
Look for #10! Go Knights!

Growing up!

William finally got his license....and a car!

Despite the business of our lives, we are grateful for every moment.
Goodbye Summer 2013!

The Fairly Odd Family

Dave: 45
Janet: 43
WP: 15
John: 13
Anna: 11
And most recently, as of 3/31/13, David: 9

That officially makes us the "Fairly Odd Family" at least for a few weeks, before the May birthday barrage begins.  I'm a numbers gal.  Not to be confused with a math person. It's just that I prefer categories, and nice, neat, orderly things that make sense.  I mean, looking at David's birthday date this year 3/31/13 just makes me smile.

Here are a few pictures of David over the years.  He rounds off our family in the best way possible.....

....making us an even 6.

Hobbits?!?

John has hit puberty.  There have been plenty of the tale tell signs, like the growth spurts, the cracking voice, and the mood swings.  But, what you might not realize is that his hair is changing. It's very cute.

He's starting to look a lot like someone else....

Or

Merry and Pippen!

One for the books

It has been brought to my attention that there have been NO posts in 2013. The whole purpose of this blog is to chronicle everyday life as we live it.  FAIL! All I hear is "For shame, for shame, for shame".....in Gomer Pyle's voice, of course.
This is totally unacceptable, and must be fixed immediately.

William: Lettered in wrestling despite the fact that he joined the team in his sophomore year having zero  experience.  This is not a typical sport that one can easily step into at this stage of the game and be successful.  But, he put forth 110% and eventually came out on top.

John: Sidelined early in the wrestling season due to an injury.  He was off to a promising start, but his 8th grade year was ended by a mean blow to his leg. The culprit? A sign....a handicap sign....no less.  In his defense and I'm quoting here, "It came out of nowhere!"  He ended up with 11 stitches (4 on the inside) to his shin.....OUCH!

He is back in the game, running track.  Check him out!!!

Anna: Ended each Firecracker performance with her amazing back tuck.  She had a wonderful season that involved plenty of traveling.  We were happy to meet up with family and friends along the way.  Thanks Murrays, Judy, and Hornaks for sharing in her season.

David: Endured lots of time in the car traveling to one sport or another for one or more of his siblings.  He and daddy made the most of it and there were some great one-on-one times shared.  He is obsessed with Star Wars Legos and has finally mastered the front flip on the trampoline.

So there you have it.  One for the books.  I will now proceed with the removal of coal that has been he heaped upon my head.
