Excuses, excuses

So I've neglected my blogging duties. I've thought about writing numerous times, but never put the fingers to the pad. Opportunities have come and gone and I haven't captured the moment once.

The following is a condensed version of our last 5 1/2 weeks......a summary of sorts.

Let's see, there was Valentine's Day, an eighteenth wedding anniversary, 3 fever viruses, LOTS of after school practices/carpools, Anna's first fall off a horse, 3 strep throats, 2 ear infections, bullies on the bus, snow in March, throw-up on the carpet, lots of high blood sugars, teacher conferences, Saturday and Sunday basketball games, tons-o-homework, 2 iphones on the fritz, end of the season dinners and celebrations for basketball, 3 missed bible studies, dangerously low blood sugars (accompanied by idiot teachers), ants in the kitchen, several sleepovers, broken coffee maker, beginning outdoor track, 5 dentist appointments, lunch duties, Friday folder mom, and St. Paddy's day.

On the flip side, there were sweet Valentine truffles shared, an urgent "Happy Anniversary" text from the outta town hubby, snuggle/TV time, precious time listening to important day's events, getting back on the horse, 3 antibiotics, valuable lessons learned, 70 degree weather, carpet cleaner, insulin, discovering new ideas to help my children learn, the importance of being a team player, friends to help with Algebra, FREE replacement phone, ice cream after a much needed victory, 3 lunch dates with my sweetie, skittles and a wonderful school nurse, the Orkin man, oh boy, this is a hard one -- encouraging friendships?, BB&B's return policy, seeing WP run a 6.13 mile at the beginning of the season, clean teeth and dental insurance, getting to see my kids at school, ditto, Leprechaun tattoos and green eggs.

That's it....in a nut shell. Tears, sickness, frustration, and irritation, accompanied by joyful, triumphant, humorous, and lovable moments. To me.....all acceptable excuses.

  1. Glad your fingers are working again. You make my heart sing (even through those yucky moments) because those are the all of the parts of your life I miss terribly and so happy to share. Hugs, kisses, band-aids, elbow grease, a lending ear, etc. are all from me to you and your precious family. We sure do miss you and love you lots. xoxo - Suz
